Rod Morgenstein captivates the audience at his West L.A. Music drum clinic
LOS ANGELES, CA — Over 200 drummers filled West L.A. Music recently to hear noted drummer Rod Morgenstein present a clinic on drum and cymbal techniques. From his instrumental adventures with the Dixie Dregs and the Steve Morse Band, to the multi-platinum success of Winger, Morgenstein is considered one of rock's most exciting and accomplished drummers. The clinic, presented in association with Sabian cymbals, showcased Morgenstein's masterful command of independence, odd-time, and double bass techniques.
Attendees were treated to extended drum solos, practice techniques and a question-and-answer session on topics ranging from how to get a record deal to counting odd time signatures. Because of his incredible talent and down to earth humor, Rod held the captive audience in the palm of his hand during the two hour clinic.
After the clinic, attendees were invited to West L.A. Music's drum store for an autograph session and demonstration of the latest Sabian cymbals. Fans lined up for Rod's autograph session, and prizes were given away including Sabian cymbals, T-shirts and posters.
Upcoming topics in West L.A. Music's clinic series include the introduction of the new Alesis ADAT digital audio recorder, and a seminar sponsored by Yamaha and Zildjian presenting Guns 'N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum.
