LOS ANGELES, CA — West L.A. Music is thrilled to congratulate customer Andre Benjamin, also known as Dre or Andre 3000 and half of the hip hop duo OutKast, on his three awards at this year's GRAMMYs. OutKast was one of the big winners of the night receiving the coveted Album of the Year prize for Speakerboxxx/The Love Below as well as Best Rap Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance for the song "Hey Ya!".
An incredibly talented musician, Dre not only handled all of the production and vocals on his half of the album, The Love Below, but played most of the instruments as well including guitar, keyboards and drum programming.
Wanting recording gear that could easily be transferred between Los Angeles, Atlanta, hotels or anywhere on the road, Dre recently purchased a high-end, mobile, computer-based recording system complete with mic preamps and an assortment of software from West L.A. Music.
